I would like to spend more time on them but we have very few here in Tennessee.

Mark, we don't have many trout lakes here in Tennessee but I always enjoy fishing stillwaters when I head out west.

Shaun, you are fortunate to live in such an amazing state. I always enjoy my trips out there immensely and hope to get the opportunity to live somewhere in CO someday. There is a spring creek on the west slope somewhere near Basalt that is a tributary of the Roaring Fork. Unfortunately I believe it is all private water but if you have some extra $$$ it might be worth looking into. I have never fished it personally but have heard great things about it.

David KnappDavid Knapphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12480485571834164857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32835299.post-31657301016223205762010-11-03T00:18:23.681-05:002010-11-03T00:18:23.681-05:00tailwaters, hands down. we just have so many great...tailwaters, hands down. we just have so many great tailwaters in Colorado, 'cause we is thirsty folks in this here high desert. Cheesman canyon, Elevenmile canyon, the Dream Stream, the Taylor, the Fryingpan, the Williams Fork, Stagecoach, the Thompson in Estes Park, hell even Chatfield.

I would love to do more fishing on spring creeks, but we have none to my knowledge, and Montana is a ways...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32835299.post-75863567386448374092010-11-02T08:30:27.782-05:002010-11-02T08:30:27.782-05:00Me, I'm a lake kind of guy, for the most part,...Me, I'm a lake kind of guy, for the most part, anyway.

MarkMark Kautzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03802544198629446327noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32835299.post-76371769011968957552010-11-02T03:30:38.030-05:002010-11-02T03:30:38.030-05:00Here in Derbyshire we have both spring fed rivers ...Here in Derbyshire we have both spring fed rivers and streams together with spate rivers, like your freestone rivers only smaller. Tail waters are rare, there is one below Ladybower reservoir that is available on a day ticket. It is not subject to the extremes of water levels that you can experience in the USA and really is a freestone water (it is full of brown trout and escapee rainbows). If "spring creek" means a moving watercourse that is mainly spring fed then I have voted for the right one.
