People are learning how much enjoyment and relaxation outdoor pursuits bring, and I doubt that they will all completely quit once there are alternative things they can do. Anyway, glad you enjoyed this post!David Knapphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12480485571834164857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32835299.post-74475970439119025532021-02-17T15:05:52.822-06:002021-02-17T15:05:52.822-06:00David

It was addressing the overcrowded conditions out West during the peak season of trout fishing.
I feel as you do that Covid has contributed to the overcrowding in our parks, streams, and hiking trails. I don't see it letting up anytime soon. Why do I say this, because the virus will remain with us for another year? It's going to take some time for the general public to feel comfortable being in a place where one is not sitting close to someone else. I know sporting events will continue to house large crowds, but these individuals would go to any sporting event regardless. I am referring to the individual who wants to spend more time in the outdoors, and yes those individuals are increasing. I learned this first hand this past year fishing the Sipsey. It was so crowded that a couple of times I packed it in and went home. It's very disheartening when you have fishermen flanking your right and left side by as little as 10 to 12 ft. I can remember a couple of years ago I go and fish the place and not see but a couple of fishermen, not anymore. I have stopped posting flies that I use to land the few trout I catch now. With only a third of a mile to trout fish one needs to keep some things to himself when fishing there and one is the fly patterns.
I do have privacy when I am fishing Smith Lake for the big gills and spotted bass, because I can boat away from other fishermen, but I don't have that advantage on the tailrace. I'm glad you shared this post and I hope a lot of individuals will take note!! Thanks for sharingBill Trussellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15351692272817692157noreply@blogger.com
