Guided Trips

FISHING REPORT AND SYNOPSIS: 05/8/2018

Peak spring fishing is here! Lots of bugs are hatching in the Smokies, smallmouth bass are heating up, and the Caney is starting to offer some fishable windows especially on weekends. This is looking like a good summer for fishing here in middle and east Tennessee. Spring was unseasonably cool which should make for some excellent summer fishing on the tailwaters in particular.

Morning Rays

One of my favorite things about camping is getting out on the water early in the morning. Getting to enjoy a stream without competing for space is a luxury normally reserved for winter time when the fish may or may not be awake. However, those willing to get out early or stay very late can sometimes have the stream to themselves. Being the only person on planet earth blessed with this view was special to say the least.

  1. David, I used to be able to roll out of bed and be on the water before the rest of the world woke up. Not so much anymore................ Still your point is well taken and your picture demonstrates all that one can miss quite beautifully.

    1. Howard, I would agree although I wish I had the energy and drive to wake up and document it more often.
